350 Ghana Reducing Our Carbon (350 GROC), a climate NGO in Ghana, organized an event called Renewable Energy for Schools at Christ the King Catholic Senior High School in Obuasi. The event aimed to educate students on climate change, renewable energy, and showcase solar gadgets.

The event was attended by the Obuasi East Director of Education, Kwabena Owusu Nketia, the headmaster, and staff of the school. Portia Adu Mensah, the national coordinator for 350 GROC, urged the government to increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix.

Charles Wundengba, the communications officer for 350 GROC, took the students through the impact of climate change on Obuasi, the country, and the world as a whole. He emphasized the need for urgent action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change.

The solar gadgets on display also impressed the students and sparked their curiosity about the potential of renewable energy.

350 GROC’s Renewable Energy for Schools event was a great initiative in educating the next generation about the importance of renewable energy and climate change action. By inspiring young minds, 350 GROC is building a foundation for a sustainable future in Ghana and beyond.
