350 G-ROC Organises Renewable Energy for Communities Partnership Engagement Meeting

350 Ghana Reducing Our Carbon (350 G-ROC), a non-governmental organization that is into the promotion of clean and renewable energy in Ghana, on Thursday, 10th February 2022 engaged its stakeholders to discuss the activities for their regional campaigns in 2022.

The event, which took place at the RIDMA Hotel in Accra brought together other young climate activists to share ideas on how the group can engage its key stakeholders at the regional level in the promotion of their Renewable Energy for Communities (RE4C) Campaign.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Portia Adu-Mensah, National Coordinator of 350G-ROC said she believes when Civil Society Organisations come together they can build a bigger momentum and push the Renewable Energy agenda Forward.

She explained that Ghana’s nationally determined contribution under the Paris agreement highlights energy as a core focus and hence the need to come together as a coalition and demand that our leaders commit to the agreement.

Patricia Odeibea Bekoe, Secretary for 350 G-ROC and the Digital team lead for 350 GROC, Charles Wundengba also took turns to brief the team on the activities of the organization in the previous year.

The Coordinator for Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities, Mr. Richard Martey gave a brief description of all the five regions that this year’s campaign covers, after which the participants went into groups to discuss the activities for their regional tours.

The meeting was chaired by Kenneth Amoateng of Abibinsroma and moderated by Margaret Mpraim. Also present at the meeting were representatives from GYEM, ISEES, Abibinsroma, SYND, Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities, Frontier of Development Planning Foundation, Young Volunteers for Development and CHAMFED.
