Women in Renewable Energy

The Women in Renewable Energy initiative is a flagship program of 350 Ghana Reducing Our Carbon (350 G-ROC), designed to increase women’s leadership, participation, and representation in Ghana’s renewable energy transition. The initiative builds the capacity of women—particularly young women, frontline community leaders, and grassroots advocates—to become active agents of change in advancing clean, affordable, and community-centered energy solutions.

Core Objectives

Leadership Development

Strengthen women’s leadership in climate and energy advocacy by providing training in policy influence, communication, and strategic planning.

Capacity Building & Skills Training

Equip participants with technical knowledge in renewable energy systems (solar, wind, and decentralized energy solutions).

Advocacy for Energy Justice

Ensure women’s voices shape Ghana’s national energy transition agenda and contribute to achieving the country’s renewable energy targets.

Community Empowerment

Support women-led renewable energy initiatives in local communities, enabling access to clean and affordable energy.

Networking & Collaboration

Build a national network of women champions working together to amplify community-led clean energy solutions.
