Renewable Energy for Communities Partnership Engagement Meeting

On Thursday, 10th February 2022, we engaged our stakeholders to discuss the activities for their regional campaigns in 2022.

The event, which took place at the RIDMA Hotel in Accra brought together other young climate activists to share ideas on how we can engage our key stakeholders at the regional level in the promotion of our Renewable Energy for Communities (RE4C) Campaign.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Portia Adu-Mensah, National Coordinator of 350G-ROC said she believes when Civil Society Organisations come together we can build a bigger momentum and push the Renewable Energy agenda Forward.

She explained that Ghana’s nationally determined contribution under the Paris agreement highlights energy as a core focus and hence the need to come together as a coalition and demand that our leaders commit to the agreement.

The Coordinator for Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities, Mr. Richard Martey gave a brief description of all the five regions that this year’s campaign covers, after which the participants went into groups to discuss the activities for their regional tours.

The meeting was chaired by Kenneth Amoateng of Abibinsroma and moderated by Margaret Mpraim. Also present at the meeting were representatives from GYEM, ISEES, Abibinsroma, SYND, Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities, Frontier of Development Planning Foundation, Young Volunteers for Development and CHAMFED.
