RE4C Procession

On Thursday, climate defenders and civil society groups in Accra, Ghana will hold a procession to parliament, to deliver the recently released IPCC report and call on Members of Parliament of Ghana’s national regions to implement plans to boost renewable energy in the country’s energy mix. The IPCC report indicated that damages caused by the climate crisis are likely to worsen rapidly, if urgent measures are not taken to lower greenhouse gas emissions globally. The defenders, under the Renewable Energy for Communities campaign (RE4C) have been calling for greater renewable energy ambition in the country’s energy plans to ensure a secure, sustainable clean energy future for Ghana.
