Portia Adu-Mensah – National Cordinator

Portia Adu Mensah is a climate activist in Ghana, serving as the National Coordinator of 350 Ghana Reducing our Carbon (350GROC) and the founder of Dream Hunt, an NGO aimed at providing training to young people. She has won several accolades, including the Most Impactful Climate Change/Biodiversity Conservation Advocate at the Ghana Environmental and Sanitation Awards in 2022.

Portia’s passion for environmental activism began early, and she has participated in various environmental campaigns and events across Ghana. She is the #ActinTime Ghana Lead organizer for Climate Clock, volunteers as the secretary of International Day of the African Youth (IDAY) and secretary at the Coalition of NGOs in Tema (CONGOT) in Ghana, and has been trained as a Climate Change Creative Activist by 350.org in 2013 and by Global Power Shift in Turkey. Portia has also volunteered for Water Aid, Abibinsroma Foundation, Care International Switzerland, Friends of the Earth Ghana, PerVita Foundation, Global Student Initiative (GSI), and Alliance for Empowering Rural Development.

As a graduate of Central University College with a degree in Banking and Finance, Portia brings her academic background to environmental activism, believing that choosing the ecosystem over economics is the only way to solve the climate crisis. Portia’s unwavering commitment to the cause of environmental sustainability and climate justice continues to inspire and motivate many young people in Ghana and beyond.
